Dr. Melissa Asgaonkar (“Dr. A”) is a friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated pediatrician who believes in personalized and consistent care that is easy, fast and convenient for patients and their families. “What we offer isn’t just personalized or quality pediatric care; it’s confidence that when your child isn’t feeling well or is injured, you can easily reach me. Through the relationship we have built, I know your child and their history.”
Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. A graduated from Wayne State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She went on to receive her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. After completing her pediatric residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Dr. A practiced in Louisville, Kentucky and South Bend, Indiana before relocating her family to North Texas in 2010.
Dr. A is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and recently completed her certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is excited to offer specialized services to new moms.
Outside of medicine, Dr. A loves spending time with her husband, two children and the family dogs. She enjoys traveling, watching football, going to the movies, sewing and everything Disney.
MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC
Collin Naugher was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2012. He served as Texas Nursing Students Association president for his fellow nursing students at the Texas Tech chapter.
After receiving his registered nursing license in 2012, Collin worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for three years at Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. The PICU is where he found his calling to work in pediatrics. He was also selected for the ECMO team that provides temporary supportive care for critically ill patients.
In 2015 Collin moved from Lubbock to Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2015 with his Master of Science in Nursing with a 4.0 GPA. He was nationally certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board shortly after graduation as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. He has been practicing pediatric primary care in North Fort Worth for the last eight years.
Collin enjoys contributing to the education of future medical professionals as well. This has led him to teach at the University of Texas at Arlington in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program since 2017. He also is finishing his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Texas at Arlington, focusing on translational research, leadership, and the mother-infant dyad.
Collin met his wife Amanda while studying in a coffee shop in 2011, where they quickly became inseparable. In 2013 they were married, and now their three children keep them on their toes. On a free afternoon, you might find them frequenting coffee shops, reading a book, or training for a half marathon.
Pediatricians specialize in the care of children and adolescents from birth through college. We also provide parents with support and advice with issues such as growth and development, safety and prevention, nutrition, and emotional wellness to foster a lifetime of good health.
Well child visits are a vital part of your child’s health care, and they typically follow this schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
During a check-up, we evaluate growth, development, vision, speech and hearing. These visits also provide an opportunity to discuss child safety, nutrition, accident prevention and anticipated changes in behavior and development. During some visits your child will receive immunizations and screening tests of blood and urine.
We encourage parents to keep a list of questions they may have and bring the list to the visit. Please contact the office in advance to schedule an appointment on the date and time that best fits your needs.
We understand that children can become ill quickly and unexpectedly, which is why we reserve a portion of our daily schedule for sick children. When at all possible, we try to schedule same-day sick appointments.
We do require an appointment for your child to be seen. To schedule a sick visit, please contact us early in the day. This will help us to see your child during office hours and before pharmacies close. If you would like us to see more than one child, you must schedule both of them when you make your appointment.
As a small, private practice envisioned by local pediatrician and fellow mom, Dr. Asgaonkar (“Dr. A”), we set out to strengthen the relationship between families and their pediatrician.
Arbor Pediatrics is locally owned, locally operated, and locally loved in the Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville, Trophy Club and Keller communities.
Absolutely love Dr. A. Took our daughter in when she wasn’t feeling well. We were seen right away. Dr A listened to our concerns about what was going on. She explained everything she was doing as she checked our daughter out and went over all the reasons why she wanted to do testing on her. We never felt rushed at all. Our daughter was extremely comfortable with Dr. A, which says a lot! We are so happy to have found her!
