Introducing solid foods is an exciting time, but did you know that introducing common allergens early might help reduce the risk of allergies?
Foods like peanuts, eggs, and dairy can be safely added to your baby’s diet under your pediatrician’s guidance around 6 months old.
Do you have food allergies and worry you have passed it down to your baby? Call our office today to see what precautions might be necessary when you start introducing food.

As parents, it’s natural to feel a sense of worry and concern about your child’s well-being. But sometimes, those worries can escalate into something more overwhelming. Parental anxiety is real and can affect parents of children of all ages. Whether your child is a toddler, a teenager, or an adult living on their own, the weight of responsibility for their health, safety, and happiness can sometimes feel like too much to bear.
What does parental anxiety look like? Constant worry, difficulty letting go, physical symptoms, overprotectiveness, constant comparison.
As much as we want to protect our children and ensure they have everything they need to succeed, it’s important to recognize when the stress is starting to take a toll on your own mental health. Parental anxiety can impact your ability to connect with your child, make thoughtful decisions, and take care of your own well-being.
If you’re struggling with anxiety, it’s important to remember that there’s no shame in seeking support. Arbor Pediatrics is here not only to support your child’s health but also to guide you in managing your own stress.
We can help connect you with resources and advice on how to manage anxiety as a parent. Call our office today to schedule your child an appointment with one of our providers to discuss ways we can help get you and your family plugged in with the right resources.

Can my toddler see well? Do they need glasses?
It’s common for toddlers to not yet express when they’re having trouble with their vision. But as a parent, there are signs to watch out for. If your child is squinting, tilting their head, rubbing their eyes frequently, or having difficulty focusing on objects, they may need a vision test. Also, if they’re having trouble with activities like reading, drawing, or playing sports, it could indicate a vision issue.
At Arbor Pediatrics, we are equipped to test your toddler’s vision. If you have concerns, call our office today to schedule an appointment with a provider.

Poop tells us so much!
What your toddler’s poop looks like can help you understand if their diet and hydration is adequate. Hard, ball-like stools can indicate constipation.
You can help your toddler by offering more fruits and vegetables (increasing fiber), making sure they drink 16 - 32 oz (2 - 4 cups) of water during the day (hydration), and encouraging age appropriate exercise (helps with motility).
Constipation is very common in the toddler years. Our providers can help you determine next steps if dietary changes are not helping. Call today to schedule an appointment.
